The sit-in protest of Baloch women demanding an explanation of the fate of Baloch Yakjeti Committee (BYC) leaders and activists detained by the Pakistani state on different dates continues on its 33rd day. The ReleaseBYCLeaders X (Release BYC leaders) account, where the protests in front of the Islamabad Press Club were broadcast and press releases were made, was suspended by X. 

 

Nadia Baloch, who led the protests, said in a statement on her virtual media account that X silenced dissenting voices. Nadia Baloch said: "This is deeply disturbing and concerning, as international platforms are increasingly shrinking the space for dissenting voices…By suspending such accounts, X platform that claims to champion free speech is effectively reinforcing the very state censorship that silences these voices in Pakistan. I urge X to reconsider this decision."
